Approximately 75% of practice is Craniofacial Pain/Temporomandibular Disorder diagnosis and treatment.

 

Assistant Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical School teaching in the Graduate Orthodontic Residency Program 1993 to Present

 

Research on Temporomandibular Joint disk recapture using Anterior Repositioning Appliances with the Radiology Department at Vanderbilt University Medical School. This research started in 1993 and continues today. The research also includes the effect of orthodontics, extraction of teeth including third molars, bridges, partial dentures, dentures, overbite, overjet and Angle’s class of occlusion have on TMJ disk displacement and recapture. Two papers are published on the research and one paper on MRI Protocol for Temporomandibular Joints. Future research papers almost ready for submission are on the symptoms usually seen in a TMJ patients and the ability to relieve these symptoms using Anterior Repositioning Appliances.

 

Primary author of the specialty application for Craniofacial Pain submitted to the American Dental Association on June 1, 2001, June 1, 2003 and June 2005..
